International conference – Autism: Current Situation and Challenges in Georgia
On 11 November 2015, the first international conference “Autism: Current Situation and Challenges in Georgia” was held at the Ilia State University. This event was organized within the project “Establishment of Services for Children and Adolescents with Autistic Spectrum Disorders in Georgia”.
The conference aim was to review the situation with status of persons with autistic spectrum disorders in Georgia, to share the experience of Czech Republic in the diagnostics, lifetime care, social assistance and inclusion of such persons and discussions on future perspectives.
Organizers of the event were Caritas Czech Republic, Ilia State University Child Development Institute, Georgian Autism Association and Autism Research and Support Foundation.
The conference was attended by experts from Georgian governmental and non-governmental organizations, Child Development Institute and Czech Republic civil Association in Aid of Persons with Autism (APLA).
The co-financing of the project was provided by Czech Development Agency.
