First Social Enterprise Launched – A Greenhouse

აThe first social enterprise on the grounds of the National Autism Center is now operational: a 500-square-meter greenhouse funded through a grant from the LEPL State Grants Agency.

Working with the soil under the supervision of an experienced agronomist and psychologists is an important component of the therapeutic process. This activity will help autistic adults develop the practical and social skills needed for independent living, foster self-fulfillment, and encourage their active participation in community life.

On October 17, 2026, autistic individuals and their parents planted 2,000 strawberry seedlings in the greenhouse. The first harvest is expected within the next two to three months. A portion of the produce will be sold in supermarkets in Tbilisi under the Autism Foundation’s emblem.

This initiative is more than an agricultural enterprise. It represents an important step toward the development of social entrepreneurship, the acquisition of practical experience, and the promotion of greater social inclusion for autistic adults.
